Organise your Walk
If you're passionate about health, fitness, healthy eating, or improving the lives of people affected by diabetes — this campaign is for you. Every year, thousands of people across the world come together in November to walk, raise awareness, and show that communities can drive real change.
Is This for You?
You belong in this campaign if you:
- Care about diabetes prevention, management, or healthy living
- Work in healthcare, public health, or community wellbeing
- Lead or belong to an organisation that wants to make a visible difference
- Want to inspire your family, colleagues, patients, students, or community to get active
- Believe that movement, awareness, and solidarity can change lives
Whether you're a seasoned event organiser or someone taking their first step into health advocacy — you are welcome here.
Where in the World Can You Take Part?
The Global Diabetes Walk is a worldwide campaign, open to participants in all countries. We particularly encourage organisations and individuals in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) to get involved — these are the regions where diabetes is growing fastest and where community-led awareness can have the greatest impact.
There are no geographic restrictions on participation. Wherever you are in the world, you can register a walk and be part of this global movement.
What You'll Be Walking For — The 2026–2027 Theme
In 2026–2027, the campaign places a particular focus on early action — encouraging individuals, communities, and organisations to take preventative steps before diabetes takes hold, and to support those already living with the condition in leading full, active lives.
This means your walk isn't just a walk. It's a message that:
- Prevention is possible
- Support makes a difference
- Communities that move together, change together
By organising a walk this year, you are contributing to a global call for earlier awareness, earlier diagnosis, and earlier action on diabetes.
